Commemorating Isra Mi'raj, IKPP Tangerang Donates Hundreds of Al-Quran Mushaf

In commemoration of the Isra Mi'raj of the Prophet Muhammad SAW, Sinar Mas Muslim Foundation through Asia Pulp & Paper (APP) Sinar Mas’ business unit, PT Indah Kiat Pulp & Paper Tbk (IKPP) Tangerang Mill donated 520 mushafs of the Quran to the South Tangerang City Government on Tuesday (22/2/2023) .

The event, which took place at Al'Itishom Mosque in South Tangerang City, was also attended by the Mayor of South Tangerang, South Tangerang MUI, and elements of the Tangsel City Muspida.

"This Quran Waqf program is our effort to practice the values of kindness, caring, and the spirit of sharing and friendship with others. This is also our commitment to support the government in efforts to meet the needs of the Quran in this country," said the Head of Sustainability PT IKPP Tangerang Kholisul Fatikhin.

In addition, Kholisul mentioned the consideration of donating the manuscripts was chosen because the printed version remains the main choice for Muslims.

"Digital technology is indeed increasingly advanced and is a good alternative to deepen Islamic values. However, the community's need for printed manuscripts has not been replaced," he said.

The Mayor of South Tangerang, Benyamin Davnie, is grateful for the Al-Quran mushaf waqf provided by PT IKPP Tangerang. Al-Quran Mushaf will be distributed to people in need.

"This is very beneficial for society. Reading the Quran is very important for human life," he said.
It is known, since 2008, APP Sinar Mas has donated more than 1.2 million Qurans, 200 thousand guidebooks for reading the Quran or Juz Amma, as well as 300 sets of Braille Qurans for the blind, both through partners and Sinar Mas business pillars that are spread in various regions.

The Quran Waqf Program is an effort by the Sinar Mas Muslim Foundation through APP Sinar Mas to practice the values of kindness, caring, and the spirit of sharing and friendship with others. This is also a commitment to support the government in efforts to meet the needs of the Koran in the country.
The Al-Quran paper donated uses premium paper specifically for Sinar Tech or better known as Quran Paper (QPP).

The paper product developed by APP's industrial unit, PT IKPP Tangerang Mill, has a very fine texture. Moreover, the printed results are very good and detailed. The ink does not spill, is not translucent, and does not reflect light into readers' eyes. Under normal circumstances, the print quality can even last up to 100 years.
